Public IP's ZoneCD is freely distributed open source software that has been created to help implement safe, free, WiFi hotspots. The ZoneCD can be used by all levels of free WiFi providers, from experienced programmers to coffee house cashiers. Setting up a free WiFi Hotspot can be as easy as hooking up an access point, popping in a CD and rebooting.
What is the ZoneCD? The ZoneCD is built on a LiveCD platform called Morphix. Morphix is based on Knoppix, which in turn is a LiveCD version of Debian Linux (gasp). Knoppix provides much of the auto configuration software used during bootup, and Morphix provides the lightweight modular platform for me to add the components and software required to create an automatic WiFi gateway.
