Linux-Tip News

We are proud to present Linux-Tip Europe. This page is designed to provide the Linux users community (not only in Europe) with news and articles that are of interest to them. It works by allowing members of the community to submit news and articles relating to Linux hardware and software. This same community can then decide what tips should be promoted based on what they consider to be the most important or interesting to the community by voting stories up and down. Stories that receive enough votes are promoted to the Linux-Tip Europe homepage. Bookmark and Share

Step 4: Using Maltego

Maltego is an open source intelligence and forensics application. It allows for the mining and gathering of information as well as the representation of this information in a meaningful way.

The Community Edition v.2.0 is already integrated in BackTrack 3. Please open it by clicking on Backtrack – Information Gathering – Maltego.

Lets start to discover all available transforms like this:
Goto tools - manage transforms and click “discover transforms”. Follow the steps in the discovery wizard. Once you're done you should see an updated list of transforms.

Let’s test Maltego and discover for example all website mirrors. Click on “Website” in the left menu – hold it and move it in the central window. Change the site name to www.romote-exploit.org by double-clicking on the name. Right click on the new website and choose “All – Websiste[Mirror].

Use this website to get further information, documentation and video-tutorials.
