Step 3: Updating Fast-Track Fast-Track is a combination of custom coded tools and features in aiding penetration testers in rapidly exploiting various weaknesses. Fast-Track comes with an arsenal of tools including an automated SQL Injector that gains the attacker full remote root access over the affected underlying system. In addition, Fast-Track incorporates ease of use with integration into Metasploit’s AutoPwn and creates a new client side attack utilizing iframes to launch a slew of exploits to unsuspecting visitors. Fast-Track is a python based open source tool set used to automate and attack systems in a new fashion never done before. Fast-Track comes with multiple modes, including a front-end web GUI, command line mode, and menu mode for ease of use.
Fast-Track is already integrated in BackTrack 3 but is usind an older version. We’ll download and install the latest version first. Go to the following website to download it. Please store it in your home directory:
http://www.securestate.com/pages/free-tools.aspx
Install it like this:
cd /home/tools tar xzf fasttrack.tgz ./setup.py install
Use the default path and install all dependencies. This script will download all necessary files and will store it accordingly. Depending on your Internet connection the installation could take some time.
After installation, use your KDE environment and click in your menu on Backtrack – Penetration – Fast Track
You have different options to run Fast-Track. Please start the GUI using the –g option and use your favourite browser on port 44444:
./fast-track.py –g http://127.0.0.1:44444
We should first update Fat-Track by clicking on „Upate fast-Track“on the left site. Open the README file and the tutorial, you will find in the Fast-Track subdirectories, to get further help and information.
