Wednesday, 01 March 2006
Brim is a web based information manager that allows you to manage your personal items like bookmarks, contacts, calendar and tasks online. It is written in PHP and is using a MySQL database. Brim is allowing the user to import and export to common standards like Netscape/Opera bookmarks or Opera contacts/vCards.

The software is based on plugins and supports more than 15 languages. Users are able to customize the look and feel using multiple themes.

Linux-Tip users are now able to test the software for free. Just create you own user account here. The following plugins are installed:

  •  Bookmark manager
  •  Calendar
  •  Contacts
  •  News (RSS) management
  •  Tasks or Todo lists
  •  Notes
  •  Web tools like calculator, subnet calculator, ASCII code and a lot  more.

Many more plugins are available, but for security reasons they are not installed at the Linux-Tip website. We do not recommend using tools like password manager, check book manager or e-banking manager without SSL encryption.
