We are proud to present Linux-Tip Europe. This page is designed to provide the Linux users community (not only in Europe) with news and articles that are of interest to them. It works by allowing members of the community to submit news and articles relating to Linux hardware and software. This same community can then decide what tips should be promoted based on what they consider to be the most important or interesting to the community by voting stories up and down. Step 3 – Windows XP Client installation and use

Please download the Windows installer from here.

You do not need to install all components. For this workshop you just need the Client installed. The installer will copy all necessary files per default into the following subdirectory:

C:\Program files\lucane\

Please find the configuration file client-config.xml in the folder \client\etc. Change it accordingly (see Step 2).

After starting and logging in as a valid user, you will find a small icon on the right side of you desktop. You can run all application with a right mouse click.

Note: If you don’t like the default look and feel, then change the following line in the client-config.xml file and restart the client:

From:
<looknfeel class="com.incors.plaf.kunststoff.KunststoffLookAndFeel" />

To:
<looknfeel class="com.sun.java.swing.plaf.windows.WindowsLookAndFeel" />

You can also use the web interface with your IE or Netscape like described in Step 2.

Additional information and help

You can stop Lucane server as admin using the Linux or Windows client. Please choose Application - Administration – Shutdown server.
